quick summary, thoughts, whatnot....

before i get more behind...i want to do a quick part II summary of our anniversary and of what i can remember off of the top of my head from the days since...

(i like to write the events more for my memory in years to come than anything else... as my memory is not so wonderful at times...)

okay... so... veda went to the bathroom of her own accord/suggestion at the cathedral of st. john the divine and it was AWESOME!!!

we then proceeded down to times square to wait in the winding line for phantom of the opera tickets. got them! 50% off and in the 12th row!!! i could practically TASTE the chandelier!

went home, hung out, brian came over to watch veda, and we went to phantom. saw the couple who we'd begun chatting with in line for tickets... married 1 year, in town from chicago, very cute (older couple...).

i'd always wanted to have wine at intermission but had never done so until that night. got a tiny glass of red vino at half off (b/c we didn't have enough cash and the bartender was generous!!!).

it was great! got to sport the 80s dress that belonged to one of my cousin john's girlfriends in the 80s that i found a while back in my grandmother's attic. did i sell the other one that i found at the same time??

great night. brian made the best veda video ever, which you have probably seen already, but should see again...

------

not sure about other days....they're already blurring together...

...oh yes!

the mates of state/black kids/sunbears show!

that was monday night. it was great. mates of state have been my favourite band for a few years now. we last saw them at coachella and they were great. now with two kids in tow and another album or two that are great, they're even better!

evita and adam (and their kids) so kindly offered to watch veda for the NIGHT, so we dropped our little tot off at their place in harlem around 6:00, headed down to union square and walked down to 11th to the bar where brian was already waiting. it was just around the corner from webster hall (where the show took place).

webster hall is amazing. see here.

we met up with jess and sonia before the show, had some wine and whatnot and headed over. i got my tshirt early (this one). it is awesome. patrick got the last MoS shirt at coachella b/c it looked way better on him than it did on me. but i've wanted one since, and i finally have one!!!

the show rocked my universe. live shows are one of the best things in life, i think. the sunbears and their super nerdy happy wonderful sound with excellent visuals rocked it! and the black kids?? AMAZING. and mates of state? i new every word to every song (but the encore, which was incredible, and i think was a cover of something i've heard before...very bluesy, folky sounding...).

anyway, it was one of the best shows i've been to in a while.

THEN, jess & patrick & i went out for burgers at blue 9 burger. they were the best burgers ever!!! (i was also starving...)

we parted ways and got stuck at the lorimer stop in williamsburg for quite some time, as the mta was running shuttle busses and there were none to be found for quite some time. i'm shocked that a fight did not break out on the bus that we were on. i've never been in a more crowded or humid bus in my life...not even in tokyo.

it was a great night.

OH! AND... my friend SIMI from ITALY was there! we randomly ran into eachother last year behind pearl paint (didn't even know she was in nyc!!!) and haven't seen eachother since! she happened to be at the show too! she works at the guggenheim & i can't wait to see her again! jess ate her friend's falafel like it was going out of style. it was awesome.

we hung out with jessica and addison after picking up veda at adam & evitas and going to story time at the libary. i really want to attend their free yoga classes which start next thursday, but no kids allowed, so we'll have to see...

i fell asleep for a bit and we went shopping on 125th at old navy for a bit.

next time, we're hitting up H & M... did you know that they have a kids department?!?!?!??! this has really changed everything.... oh yes...

----

patrick and i had a great day trying to figure out our next steps, jobwise, to take. going to the park. having brian and jason over to watch saved!. always a good. we really need to suck it up and buy the dvd. i laugh every time.

---

now it's time to get ready for moms & tots! but before i go, a random proverb to start the day (because the Proverbs Rule):

Wisdom cries aloud in the street,
in the markets she raises her voice;
at the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:
"How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools hate knowledge?..."
